It is with deep sadness that we share the sudden and unexpected passing of Melisa Eye, Fur-Ever Homes Rescue’s long-time volunteer. Melisa left this world far too soon, and our hearts are heavy with the loss of someone who gave so much to the animals and people around her.
According to Fur-Ever Homes “Rescue, she was not only a devoted advocate but a cornerstone of rescue for many years—fostering some of the most challenging cases, traveling to Mexico to help transport dogs to safety, assisting with countless fundraising efforts, and supporting our mission in every way she could.
Melisa’s passion for animal advocacy ran deep. She gave her time, her home, and her heart to animals in need. Her impact is truly immeasurable. She saved lives—literally and figuratively—and did so with quiet strength, steady compassion, and endless generosity.
If you knew Melisa, you knew her warmth, her resilience, and her unwavering commitment to doing good in the world. She inspired those around her and left every space better than she found it.
Melisa will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, fellow volunteers, and the countless lives—both human and animal—she touched along the way.
A celebration of her life will be planned, and details will be shared soon. In the meantime, we honor her legacy by continuing the work she cared so deeply about. Rest in peace, Melisa. Your light lives on in every life you helped save.
