It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that we share the news that our beloved dad, Geoff Guille, passed away earlier this week following a decline in his battle with dementia. His passing has come as a shock, despite the challenges he faced in recent years. While we are heartbroken, we take comfort in knowing that he is now free from the confusion and restraints that dementia so cruelly imposed on him.
Dad was dearly loved by Mum — his wife and partner of nearly 55 wonderful years — and by Jackie and me. He was absolutely adored by his grandchildren, Harriette, Toby, Jazzy, and Rory, all of whom brought him great pride and joy. His presence in our lives was a gift, and his absence is already deeply felt.
I want to sincerely thank everyone who has been part of our journey, especially those who supported us through the difficult times over the past few years and in this past week. Your kindness, compassion, and help have meant more than words can express.
I remember Dad as the cheeky, playful man who once tickled all the tickles out of me, who worked tirelessly to provide for us, and who always found time to share his passions — especially his love for motorsport. His sense of humour and spirited nature lit up the room, and those memories are what I will carry with me most.
Please take a moment to smile and have a little giggle as you remember the funny moments, the joy he brought, and the life he lived. He would have wanted that.
We will keep everyone updated with funeral arrangements in the coming days. Thank you again for holding us in your hearts.
