It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Layvin Brooks, who left us too soon at the age of 32. Layvin passed away on June 5, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and cherished memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Layvin was born on September 21, 1992, in Detroit, Michigan, and was a beloved son, brother, and friend. From an early age, he demonstrated a bright, caring nature, always willing to help others and share his infectious smile. His warmth and generosity made him a cherished presence in the lives of his family, friends, and everyone he encountered.
Layvin’s love for life was evident in everything he did. Whether he was exploring new places, enjoying a good conversation, or spending time with his family, Layvin embraced each moment with an open heart. He had a special ability to connect with people and bring joy to their lives through his humor and genuine spirit.
Layvin’s greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted son to his parents, Michael and Karen Brooks, and a loving brother to his siblings. His bond with his family was unbreakable, and he will be deeply missed by all who shared in the love and laughter he brought into their lives.
Layvin had a passion for sports, art, and music, often expressing himself through creative outlets and his love for the outdoors. He found solace in nature and often spent his weekends hiking or exploring new trails. His creative energy was contagious, and his friends and family admired his unique perspective on life.
Layvin’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be remembered not only for his vibrant personality and generosity but also for the lasting impact he had on the lives of those around him. His memory will live on in the countless stories shared, the laughs he sparked, and the love he gave so freely.
Layvin is survived by his parents, Michael and Karen Brooks; his siblings, Sarah, David, and James; his extended family; and his many friends who loved him dearly.
A celebration of Layvin’s life will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2025, at the Evergreen Funeral Home in Detroit. A visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 12:30 p.m. In honor of Layvin’s love for nature, the family requests that donations be made to the Detroit Nature Conservancy in lieu of flowers.
