In Loving Memory of Mike Scott
On Sunday morning, our beloved Dad, Mike Scott, passed away peacefully at Lindisfarne Care Home, with my sister Sally and our wonderful Mam by his side. His long and courageous battle with both dementia and cancer has come to an end, and though our hearts are heavy, we are comforted in knowing that his pain and struggle are finally over.
My dad was truly one of the kindest, most loving, and genuinely caring people you could ever hope to meet. He was our rock — always present, always supportive, and always gentle in the way he loved us. To me, he was a role model in every sense of the word: a man of quiet strength, unwavering loyalty, and boundless compassion. He gave us a beautiful childhood filled with stability, laughter, and warmth. His love for our Mam was the kind of love that inspires — deep, enduring, and inseparable.
I carry with me so many memories of his beaming smile, his calm and reassuring voice, and his little jokes that always made us laugh. He had this quiet magic — the ability to make you feel safe and loved without needing to say much at all. Just being near him was enough.
We want to express our deepest thanks to the incredible staff at Lindisfarne Care Home. Over the past couple of years, they became an extension of our family. Their kindness, compassion, and support — not just for Dad, but for all of us — has meant more than words can say. We will forever be grateful for the love and dignity they gave him in his final chapter.
As a family, we choose not to focus solely on the sadness of his passing, but to celebrate the life he lived — a life full of love, gentleness, and goodness. We want his funeral to reflect that: a gathering to honor a man who gave so much to so many. I’ll be posting details on my Facebook page as soon as arrangements are confirmed, and we invite all who knew and loved him to join us in celebrating the beautiful soul that he was.
We love you, Dad. Thank you for everything. Your legacy lives on in all of us. 💙
